Victoria Franklin MABCP
Victoria Franklin is a registered member of the BACP. A highly experienced and qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist since 2006. With around 5.5 thousand client hours.
She uses an integrative relational approach to counselling and psychotherapy. Which draws upon and incorporates aspects from three main psychological theories and traditions: person-centred, cognitive and psychodynamic.
You may be thinking about therapy for any number of reasons. We are all unique, and no one type of therapy fits all.
Using an integrative approach, Victoria can tailor her approach to meet your particular needs and goals.
The key to success in both Counselling and Psychotherapy is through the unique relationship of the client and their therapist. The building of trust, boundaries, respect and congruence are major components of the therapeutic relationship.
It is Victoria’s role to provide a safe, open, and non-judgmental space. Where her client can tell their story and be listened to, with empathy, in a comfortable setting. She does this to ensure the therapeutic relationship foundations are built and maintained for the work to be a success.
Given the therapeutic relationship is a vital step in the recovery process and for the relationship to be productive, trust is key. A person seeking a therapist, must trust that his or her therapist has the knowledge, skill set, and desire to provide appropriate care. Since the balance of power in the therapeutic relationship greatly favours the therapist, a person in treatment must also trust that what is shared will remain confidential, and that he or she is safe from harm or exploitation from the therapist.
Victoria is experienced in working with many issues and applying a range of skills, to people of all ages. Victoria specialises in working with trauma, PTSD, child sexual abuse, rape, pre trial therapy, domestic abuse and adult survivors of childhood abuse, dissociative identity disorder, loss and addictions.
